$23,000 raised in awareness campaign
A TOTAL of $23,000 was raised during the Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign this year.
After the second event at the Motibhai Group headquarters in Legalega, Nadi yesterday, the final amount was the highest ever raised by the campaign benefiting Fiji Cancer Society.
Motibhai Group executive director Bhupendra
Patel said the initiative started from very humble beginnings when they decided to replicate Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 2006.
He said with the generous support of friendly corporate neighbours and the greater Nadi business community, the first morning tea was held at the car park of the company’s former headquarters in Nasoso.

Lautoka Hospital senior surgical registrar Dr Parneet Harish said the financial support provided by such programs went towards Fijians in need of urgent care.
“We are really appreciative of what the Motibhai Group is doing to get this fundraising done because these patients actually have a little bit of hope because someone out there is helping them,” he said.
“For a patient undergoing palliative care, such visits change their mindset.”
He said while their work was difficult, they appreciated donors who supported their work through the Fiji Cancer Society.
“You are our heroes and you are behind us, supporting us with all of these donations so we can give a better quality of life to our patients.”
