Opportunit­y to reconnect

THE Fiji New Zealand and New Zealand Fiji Business Councils 2022 Joint Conference proper starts tomorrow, providing an opportunit­y for members to interact and reconnect after a lapse of two years.

To welcome the guests and delegation members to the conference today the Fiji New Zealand Business Council is hosting a cocktail event at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Denarau Island this evening with the conference proper starting tomorrow morning.

With the theme “New Beginnings: Partnering for a Sustainabl­e

Future (Reconnecti­ng whanau, friends, and businesses)” members will hear from a great line-up of speakers on how the theme fits what they have experience­d and what they will share during the conference.

The conference will be officially opened by the chief guest, the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, followed by a welcome address by the FNZBC president Renu Chand.

The first session of the conference is on New Beginnings: What does the future hold with council member Vinay Narsey moderating the session. Speakers for this session are: 1. President, Fiji New Zealand Business Council, Renu Chand

2. President, New Zealand Fiji Business Council, Chandar Sen

3. New Zealand High Commission­er to Fiji, Charlotte Darlow

4. Governor, Reserve Bank of Fiji, Ariff Ali

5. Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Immigratio­n and Sugar Industry and permanent secretary Foreign Affairs, Yogesh Karan.

Session two is on New Beginnings: Lessons Learnt and a Sustainabl­e Future with FNZBC vice-president Namrata Singh moderating the session. Speakers for this session are:

1. New Zealand’s Trade Commission­er, Pacific, David Dewar

2. Executive manager cargo, Fiji Airways, Athil Narayan

3. CEO Neptune Pacific Direct Line, Greg Wilson

4. CEO Fiji Hotel & Tourism Associatio­n, Fantasha Lockington.
