THE immense work carried out by Fijian women entrepreneurs was acknowledged at the Fiji New Zealand and New Zealand Fiji Business Councils 2022 joint conference on Denarau Island yesterday.
The president of the Fiji New Zealand Business Council, Renu Chand, noted the acknowledgment at the Fiji New Zealand and New Zealand Fiji Business Councils 2022 joint conference on Denarau Island in Nadi.
She said as the first female president of the council, organisers had ensured through the conference that they support and inspire local women entrepreneurs.
“We are celebrating Wativula Loga from Wativula Designs and Christine Pickering from Kavara Wood Art through the gift of speakers and delegates,” Mrs Chand said.
“The theme- new beginnings; partnership for a sustainable future (reconnecting whanau, friends and businesses) was formulated and adopted, particularly considering the enormous tenacity, resilience and perseverance we have demonstrated in battling and living through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Increasingly now, the pandemic is in our rear vision mirror and consequently we are all focusing on reconnecting with family, friends and businesses for a sustainable future.”
Mrs Chand explained the conference allowed a vibrant and useful exchange of information, conversations, sharing ideas and lessons on partnering in the field of trade, investment, business and technical co-operation for a sustainable future.
More than 150 delegates were part of this one day conference at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.
