Rewa to give its all

- By ROHIT DEO

THE Rewa rugby side knows winning the Inkk Farebrother Trophy Challenge against Nadroga this Saturday will be a tough ask.

However, team secretary Petero Kaveni said the 28all draw in the first round against the Stallions at Burebasaga grounds gave the side some hope.

The Rewa team travels to Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka to face Nadroga.

“We are preparing for the double header against Nadroga and just like any other team going to Lawaqa Park to challenge for the Farebrother Trophy, we know it will be difficult.

“But we also know that it’s not impossible. It has been done in the past and our aim is to do the same this Saturday,” Kaveni said.

He added the Stallions were in their best form now and improving week in-week out.

“Nadroga is the best team right now, that is why they have the Farebrother with them. They have a very young squad.

“They have been improving every week. It will be hard to get the trophy from there but we will try our very best. We will only know the result when the final whistle is blown.”

Kaveni acknowledged the support the team had received.

“The support has been really good. People have been supporting the team lately. A lot of people are travelling. Farebrother has a different touch to it and everyone wants to travel, witness and support their team on.”

This will be Rewa’s second challenge for the Farebrother Trophy this year. The side lost 35-15 to Naitasiri in the earlier challenge.

Rewa challenges Nadroga for the Farebrother Trophy at 3pm.

Nadroga’s Taitusi Lulusini scores against Nadi during their Farebrother Trophy Challenge at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Saturday.
