APCO Coatings, Fiji’s largest paint company and subsidiary of the 7th largest coatings company worldwide — Asian Paints Ltd, launched two new waterproofing products at the Radisson Blu Resort Fiji on Thursday.
The chief executive officer of Asian Paints Global Pragyan Kumar said they took pride in having a state of art Research & Development (R&D) centre where 200 plus scientists strived to give the best waterproofing products to the market.
“We invest approximately 4-5 per cent of our total revenue in R&D because we truly live by the motto of being the trusted partner to our consumers,” he said.
Mr Kumar said it was this technological superiority that they wanted to adapt for the Fiji market. Post launching the SmartCare range of Sealants in
July this year, APCO now brings two new waterproofing products SmartCare damp proof advanced for exterior walls and roofs plus SmartCare damp proof undertile membrane for bathrooms and internal wet areas.
“Customer centricity and innovation is what enables us to continuously enhance our product range to cater to our customer needs.
“These new products are designed especially for Fiji’s tropical climate,” said general manager-Asian Paints South Pacific Ltd Amit Bose.
Regional marketing manager Amritha Sridhar said listening to the voices of their consumers had helped them identify the needs in the category of waterproofing.
“Many consumers who buy our paints are looking for a solution to dampness or seepage on their walls. With our SmartCare range of waterproofing solutions, costumers can now easily combat common waterproofing problems,” she said.
APCO would make this products available through all its authorised distributors.
