- By OTILLY RABUKU, Santa Rosa, California, USA

USA Eagles 7s rugby rep Jerome Nale is excited to see his three younger siblings Torika, Sikeli and Aliposo, take on another sport on the US sporting arena.

The 22-year old former Marist Brothers High School rugger, who is from Vadravadra Village in Ba, has been his siblings’ number one supporter.

He said he was excited for them. “I’m excited that they are playing together in one sport, “said Nale.

“Im on break from rugby, so it’s a privilege to come join them at training. They’ve always been actively involved in school sports, but I’m excited to see them go up the nationals.”

His three siblings Torika, Sikeli (16) and Aliposo (13) will feature for their Santa Rosa Netball Club at the USA Netball Open Championships in Las Vegas this weekend.

Torika, 19, a former St Joseph’s Secondary School student aspires to follow the footsteps of her older brother and play for the US netball team.

“It would be an honour to play for the Fiji Pearls, but I aim to play for the US netball team one day,” she said.

“It’s my first big break and I’m looking forward to gaining experience in playing netball.” The lanky outspoken lass looks forward to playing alongside her two brothers. It’s the greatest and most proud feeling I never thought I would have. I’ve always watched them play, but now I get to play with my two younger brothers on the same court in a big tournament. It’s a feeling every older sister would cherish.”

Torika said having her elder brother Jerome at training was a huge boost to them.

“Jerome is very supportive and I am happy to see that we are playing together and hopefully in the future we could all be in one team and his words of advice is “play smart, play with a smile on your face and have fun”.

Sikeli also plays rugby for his Montgomery High School while Aliposo plays volleyball and basketball for his Herbert

Slater School.

The Divine Fijians Homecare-sponsored Santa Rosa Netball Club will feature an all-Fijian team at the games.

The club members thank their cosponsors Blessed Provisions, BulaFiji Homecare and the Fiji Angels Homecare for their support. This will be the first time an all-Fijian team will participate at the games.

The 2022 USA Netball Championships will feature the British Army team from UK, the All Stars from Sydney, top clubs from around USA and the all-Fijian side. Otilly Rabuku is a former

journalist who now resides in the

US.
