Focus on wellness
IT is often said that an organisation’s most valuable asset is its people or human capital. The Endogenous growth models highlights the importance of human capital on economic growth and development. Health is an important determinant of economic development; a healthy population means higher productivity, thus higher income per head. The importance of human capital to economic growth cannot be over emphasized because it serves as a catalyst to economic development.

James Sowane of Tewaka will also be on hand to share experiences especially around managing wellness and corporate risk in one of Fiji’s largest industry,Tourism.
As shared by Bob Nelson “An employee’s motivation is a direct result of the sum of interactions with his or her manager. You get the best effort from others not by lighting a fire beneath them, but by building a fire within. Take time to appreciate employees and they will reciprocate in a thousand ways.”
Corporate risk now not only revolves around loss of workplace assets such as equipment and funds but also through the culture and well being of resources such as the people that deliver on the organization’s objectives.
Hence it is key to ensure that employee wellness is a key factor to consider to ensure success and minimise risk.
