Faith’s dream comes true
IT’S like dream coming true for 14-yearold Faith Kafoajeoi as she made her debut for the Navua Center U15 team against Suva U15 during the McDonald’s Youth Development League at Saraswati Manoca Primary School last Saturday.
Speaking to Fiji FA media, Faith said she was inspired by her friends to take up football.
“I always watch them play and joined them and thanks to Navua Development Center for giving me the opportunity to learn football,” said the Vashismuni Primary School student.
“We have been training in Navua but coming to play against other teams in the McDonalds League is something that will really help me develop and fulfill my dream.”
“My dream is to play for my country and become a professional player,” she said.
“I have been looking forward to the tournament and I am happy we have started to compete now and will learn a lot and most interestingly will make new friends.
“The most amazing part is we will play against Boys because this is a mixed competition where we all will play together which is fun.”
She thanked Fiji FA for doing so much for the development of women’s football in the country.
“I thank Navua and Fiji FA for setting up plans to develop us and make better players.”
The McDonlads Youth Development League entered its second week last week which will be played for four weeks as pilot project and next year U9, U11, U13 and U15 League will kick off in a bigger and better way. ■
