Bainimarama ‘only leader who could take us forward’
FIJIFIRST party candidate Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says a road development in his wife’s village in the interior of Naitasiri and a new hospital in Navosa was only made possible through the sound leadership of party leader and Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama.
He heaped praise on the PM at a party rally at Syria Park, Nausori, this week and urged people to come out in large numbers on Election Day and vote for Mr Bainimarama.
The Health Minister said he felt compelled to continue contesting under the FFP banner because of Mr Bainimarama and how they worked together at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said Mr Bainimarama would meet them at the Health Ministry headquarters daily to discuss plans to fight the virus and ways to assist people to ensure they had their basic needs met during that time.
“Mr Bainimarama is the best leader and Prime Minister that Fiji has ever had and this is what we need,” Dr Waqainabete said.
“He (Mr Bainimarama) is humble and doesn’t discriminate anyone, no one is left behind when it comes to government developments.”
Originally from Moala in the Lau Group, Dr Waqainabete said the people from his mother’s village in Navosa now have access to a state-of-the-art hospital which cost millions to build and it was only made possible through Mr Bainimarama’s leadership.
“We need to get Mr Bainimarama back in our journey because he is the only leader who could take us forward.
“Before, I used to walk eight hours from Nabulini to my wife’s village, but now the digger has reached her village.
“Please, I urge you to vote for Mr Bainimarama on December 14.”
Dr Waqainabete got 743 votes in the 2018 General Election, majority were from the Central Division followed by the Western Division.
