World-class facility Hotel group begins work on Tanoa Sports Centre
TANOA Hotel Group is developing an international standard sports facility at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.
Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Brent Hill said the visionary leadership of Tanoa Hotel Group was praiseworthy.
“The facility when completed would be truly special, unique and would create a world-class training facility,” Mr Hill said at the ground-breaking ceremony of the ‘Tanoa Sports Centre’ on Wednesday that was attended by sporting personalities and administrators and hotel industry executives.
“This is the kind of investment that we need.”
Mr Hill said they are grateful to Tanoa Hotel Group because the international training facility would be a huge boost to sports tourism in Fiji.
“From Tourism Fiji’s perspective, it is great news for us.”
Tanoa Hotel Group managing director Rohit Reddy said the investment into a world-class sports centre would not only benefit Tanoa Hotel Group, but Fiji as a whole in promoting Fiji as a sports tourism destination focusing on international standard training facilities for our home sports teams and also travelling international teams.
“We are committing around $500,000 on phase one of this project to show our loyal sports customers that we are committed in enhancing our facilities and providing them with another added benefit while staying with Tanoa.”
Tanoa Hotel Group area general manager Narend Kumar said they want to continue exploring new opportunities to promote Fiji as a preferred tourism destination.
