Forum to discuss evolution of business world – Elias
TWO distinguished academics, Prof John Brocklesby from the Victoria University, Wellington and Prof Ruth McPhail from the University of Griffith, will deliver presentations at the International Conference on Business, Hospitality and Tourism organised by the Fiji National
University’s College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS).
The event, currently taking place at the Namaka Campus, is centred on the theme “PostPandemic Resilience: A Sustainable Approach”. CBHTS Dean Prof Arun Elias said the conference would help businesses, participants, speakers, and the audience understand how the business world had changed after the pandemic.
Prof Elias highlighted that the duo’s presentation would give insight and knowledge on the topics of discussion. Prof Elias said Prof McPhail, who is a Professor of Human Resource Management, would present on Building Resilience through People, Productivity, and the Planet in the Post-COVID workplace. Prof
Brocklesby will deliver a keynote address on the topic of The Strategic Positioning of Business and Hospitality Schools in a Post-COVID Environment.
The conference also includes a panel discussion on women in leadership chaired by the FNU deputy chancellor, Dr Nur Bano Ali along with director of Pacific Destination and the member of the FNU Council,
Lala Sowane, chief executive officer C2C Logistics Australia, Kathy McDonogh, and Aspiring Entrepreneur of the Year, Eileen Sankaracharya.
CBHTS Associate Dean Research, Dr Avanish Shukla, said the college anticipated a wide range of participants from academia, industry, and the public sector from both Fiji and overseas.
