Emosi receives $500 help for documentary
EMOSI Diani, the man who scooped the 2022 Best Composition award at the Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) Music Awards, received $500 from Rooster Poultry to help him finance a documentary on his journey as a person living with disability.
He said the documentary would tell the story of his life and struggles growing up as a disabled person in a single-parent home in Fiji.
“I want to share my story so people in Fiji can be inspired,” the 23-yearold said.
“I also wanted to encourage others like me and their families to support and encourage their children who are disabled to do whatever they want to do in life.
“I am grateful that there are good people out there like Laisa Vulakoro, Rooster Poultry and Ashabhai who are willing to support this dream of mine.”
FPRA director Laisa Vulakoro said the support of business organisations towards local artists was much needed.
“Since January, Emosi has been looking for a sponsor to pay for a videographer to make his documentary,” she said.
“So I was happy when Rooster Poultry came on board again and Ashabhai, we are so grateful for this extra support, especially for the musicians and the music industry in Fiji.”
Rooster Poultry CEO Stanley Raniga said the company was happy to extend their support to Emosi.
“When we were approached by Laisa to help fund Emosi’s dream project, we came on board without hesitating,” he said.
“And we hope the video that Mr Diani will shoot will be an inspiration to other composers in Fiji.”
The documentary is scheduled to be released on Saturday, December 4 during World Disabilities Day on Emosi’s Facebook page.
Emosi recently scooped the 2022 Best Composition Award sponsored by Rooster Poultry for his song Tobu Dromuci Matasere.
