Resort appoints new manager
THE InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Mary-Lou Corcoran as resort manager of the luxury property at Natadola Beach.
Ms Corcoran joins the Fijian Resort from her role as the general manager of Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge in Tasmania, Australia.
“I am delighted to join InterContinental Fiji, an iconic and exciting property that combines luxury with authentic, soul-enriching Fijian hospitality. I look forward to working closely with such an experienced and dynamic team,” said Ms Corcoran.
She brings over thirty years of hotel, gaming, project management and parliamentary experience to her new role. She started her hospitality career with Lasseters Casino in Alice Springs, and her dynamic career journey took her throughout Australia, Auckland, Indonesia and Vanuatu.
Area general South Pacific Lachlan Walker said: “We are delighted to have Mary-Lou on board at our flagship property in Fiji. Her extensive management experience, strategic focus on the guest experience and passion for exceptional service will be key to the Resort’s success in the coming years. We are pleased to welcome her to her new home, and I look forward to working closely with her”.
In contrast to working in hotels, Ms Corcoran has multi-industry experience for nine years, taking on key government roles in the South Australian Parliament; personal assistant to the Deputy Speaker of the House, ministerial advisor, chief of staff and director of Caucus Communications for the premier of South Australia. She also had the privilege of serving as the mayor of the City of Victor Harbour from 2006 to 2010.
