- By PAULIASI MATEBOTO

THE People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka has called on party supporters to pray and hope for the best as negations continue with the Social Democratic Liberal Party over a possible partnership to form the next government in the next few days.

With the FijiFirst party and The People’s Alliance-National Federation Party tied at 26 seats each when counting in the 2022 General Election ended yesterday, SODELPA, with three seats, has 14 days to decide who it will partner with to lead the nation for the next four years.

Speaking at church service at the Fijian Teachers Association Hall yesterday, the PA leader thanked the supporters for their votes and the support over the course of the 2022 polls.

He also called for unity from all Fijians and various organisations as they awaited an outcome from the negotiations.

Mr Rabuka said as they prepared to enter Parliament, he hoped that supporters, party members who made it into the House and those that did not would continue to promote and abide by the party’s policies.

“We preach the gospel and we live the life of love, service and sacrifice,” he said.

Mr Rabuka said he was hopeful party supporters would meet again in the next few days to celebrate the outcome from the negotiations.

He also expressed appreciation to overseas party supporters for their moral and financial support.

Meanwhile, at a news conference last night, National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said he and Mr Rabuka hoped to meet personally with SODELPA leader Viliame Gavoka either last night or today to further discuss a possible coalition with his party.
