Savenaca Vulawalu, 57, said this after casting his vote during pre-polling for the 2022 General Election at Vagadra Community Hall in Nadroga on Thursday, December 8.

“Even after my death, I want a leader who will provide for our children. The candidate that I have voted for, I know he will accept and embrace all the different racial communities as one.”

Mr Vulawalu said the people should accept whoever forms the next government.

“I have exercised my democratic right today and I have voted for a leader who I know will make our country prosper.”

Mr Vulawalu said it was very important for older citizens to vote.

According to an Instagram post by PCC, the project sought to highlight the issue of plastic waste pollution in our oceans especially during Christmas time when individuals begin to consume more as people, households, churches and society.

PCC thanked those who had contributed to the clean-up campaigns, artivism and those who attended the launch standing in solidarity for the protection of God’s creation. The nativity instalment was created entirely using plastic and waste found in the ocean during ocean clean up campaigns led by POLYP.

The project was part of PCCs collective efforts to raise awareness for plastic pollution in the ocean and to platform youth movements like POLYP who are working to study and combat this issue within the country.
