Location: Lot 11 Auto City Place Raiwaqa

Applications are invited for the position of Clerk of Works to be based at the Saint John Bosco Parish Church Site, Lot 2, Naivorovoro Road, Nakasi.

This is a technical position with the successful incumbent reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Key Accountabilities

To confer with the Project Manager and the Contractor as to the interpretation of the plans and Specifications:

• Ensure that construction is strictly in accordance with the approved plans and specification.

• Oversee material quality standards to be used in the project.

• Assist the Project Manager in the review of plans, specifications and designs.

• Assist the Project Manager in interpreting of provisions of the contract.

• Ensure that construction work schedules are followed.

• Undertake inspections to all phases of construction and ensure adherence to the building Plans, Specification and building code.

• Monitor the workmanship, materials standards and proper application methods.

• Monitor and review the work of the contractor and other personnel assigned to the project.

• Attend all site meetings and submit written progress reports.

• immediately report to the Project Manager any discrepancies.

Minimum Qualification, Knowledge and Experience

A Diploma in Buildings, Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized institution. In addition the incumbent should possess and display competencies of very good judgment, be innovative, promote teamwork, able to plan & organize, be customer focused, able to work with minimum supervision, concern for public image, be ethical, and produce quality and accurate work. The applicant must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
