THE new fuel and LPG prices that came into effect as of January 1 sees consumers forking out extra for LPG products.
The new regulated prices were released by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), according to which motor spirit will now cost $2.76 reduced by a cent while Premix now cost $2.58.
The price of kerosene saw a reduction of 11 cents to retail at $2.25 while diesel which currently retailed at $3.06 will now cost $2.82.
The price of 4.5kg cylinder increased by 33 cents to retail at $16.01 while 12 kg cylinder increased from $41.80 to retail at $42.70.
Bulk Gas increased to $3.29, an increase by six cents while Auto Gas will sell at $2.19.
In a statement FCCC said the price of motor spirit and premix decreased as unfavourable movement was noted in the international refined fuel price and international freight rate for motor spirit, while the US dollar weakened against the Fijian dollar when compared with last month’s review.
The changes in price for kerosene and diesel has been attributed to favourable movement in the international refined fuel prices, while unfavourable movement was noted in the international freight rate.
The price for all LPG products this month increased as unfavourable movement was noted in the Butane Contract Price.
