Change of residences

-

I DESIRE to encourage us, the beloved citizens of Fiji, in our life journey with the parting words of John Wesley: “The best of all is God is with us.”

Thank you Shayal Devi for your well-presented article at page 2 of yesterday’s The Fiji Times, titled: “No Plans To Change Residences Soon.”

Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka, Prime Minister of our wonderful Fiji, I honour and commend you for your respectful remark thus: “I am waiting for the Public Service Commission, normally does the quarters allocation in association with the Lands Department who looks after the quarters, so we will give the occupants to relocate, “he said.

Honourable Prime Minister, with respect, whatever allocation is finally made for your official residence, never be tempted to move into Na Vosa Vakadua, The Chief Justice, traditional residence at the junction of Muanikau Rd and Ratu Sukuna Rd. That has always been the residence of Na Vosa Vakadua from the colonial time until the post December 2006 coup.

We must continue to respect these three pillars of governance: The State, the holder still resides in the traditional home; The Justice, the holder, sadly, is currently residing in Namadi Heights; The Government, the holder - Prime Minister, should be residing in his official residence which is located beside the Chief Justice’s residence along Ratu Sukuna Rd towards Marou Rd. By the way, what has happened to the Speaker’s official residence in Veiuto at the Parliament complex?
