Sir,

I am a relative of a junior police officer who was recently charged by a police court for unlawfully using a police vehicle. This action was taken, as there are a very limited number of motor vehicles in the Police Force. However, only last week during the busy period before Christmas, a senior police officer from Suva brought by the ferry Ashika a police Land-rover and a police corporal to drive him around. Under the pretence of carrying out inspection, they rushed through Wainikoro, Labasa, Dreketi and Nabouwalu on Monday December 16. On Tuesday, they drove through from Nabouwalu to Savusavu and then to a private estate at Nalovo in Nakoto where he has

personal interest.
