It even surprised tournament ambassador, Kenya 7s legend Collins Injera who could not stop but jump in awe of the quality of rugby displayed by the four teams.

Both semi-finals went into extra-time.

Both teams tried hard but failed to get the golden point. It was Fire’s Avete Bose, who scored the winning try in the second spell. The second semi-final was a game of two halves.

In a battle of the two top security forces, Army scored three first half tries to lead 17-nil at halftime.

Livai Ikanikoda and Terio Tamani led the comeback for Police in the second spell as they replied with three tries of their own to tie the scores 17-all at fulltime.

It was Army’s Waisea Leirotim, who broke Police hearts and sent the 2020 champions packing with a try in extra time.
