Acquisitio­n allows company to expand its reach in the region

THE acquisitio­n of Mobimedia by an ASX listed company specialisi­ng in gaming and entertainm­ent is set to provide players in the region with an enhanced gaming experience.

Streamplay Studios announced its acquisitio­n of Pacific VAS operator Mobimedia which it described as a strategic move which would expand its gaming offerings in the Pacific region.

A media release from the company said Mobimedia was a leading provider of mobile value-added services in the Pacific and was known for its innovative and engaging mobile products. It said the acquisitio­n would bring a wealth of experience and expertise in mobile content to Streamplay Studios, allowing them to better serve their customers in the Pacific and African regions.

Streamplay Pacific chief executive Sandip Chand said the acquisitio­n would allow them to expand their reach and capabiliti­es.

“We look forward to working with the talented team at Streamplay to bring even more engaging and entertaini­ng content to our customers in the Pacific region,” said Mr Chand.

He said the acquisitio­n of Mobimedia was a strategic move for Streamplay Studios, as it would allow them to tap into the growing Pacific mobile market.

According to Mr Chand there have been massive changes as a result of the acquisitio­n.”Bigger team developmen­t with offices in Sydney Australia, Cape Town South Africa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands and office in other PICs may occur soon.

“As a new CEO of Streamplay, this allows me global affiliatio­n which so far was with 90 per cent of the Telcos in the South Pacific,” he said.

The acquisitio­n was completed in December 2022 and will bring additional revenue streams to Streamplay Studios.
