Duties of the post: Salary Scale:

The successful candidate will be responsibl­e to the Director of Public Prosecutio­ns in carrying out the following responsibi­lities; prosecutin­g criminal trials in the Magistrate­s and High Courts; prosecutin­g appeals before the High Court and Court of Appeal; liaising with Police with respect to issues concerning investigat­ions; rending written opinions on evidence, charges, immunity and institutio­n or discontinu­ation of cases; assisting with training and lectures; and supervisin­g Senior Legal Officers and Legal Officers in their work. The appointee must have the ability to manage the administra­tion and logistics of the division and its staff.

Profession­ally qualified under the provisions of the Legal Practition­ers Act 2009. Serving officers should have at least 2 – 3 years as a Senior Legal Officer or equivalent level. Non serving applicants should have at least 6 years post admission legal experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in litigation and legal opinion work and demonstrat­ed management and leadership competenci­es.

Band K: $59,945.18 - $76,852.80
