Leading retail store joins Fijian Drua vuvale

- By RODNEY DUTHIE

THE Fijian Drua has today welcomed one of the country’s leading retail store chains as a major sponsor.

As part of its major investment into the club and rugby in Fiji, Jack’s of Fiji has secured branding rights on all referees and ball kids’ kits for Drua’s home matches in the 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby season.

The three-year partnership is already in effect, as the match officials and ball kids ran out in the new Jack’s of Fiji branded apparel during the Drua’s home match in the Super Round last Saturday against the Waratahs.

“Jack’s of Fiji have been part of our Club since our inception and are already one of our biggest licensed retailers of official Drua merchandise. For them to elevate this into a major sponsorship in just our second year is a huge sign of confidence in our club and our team,” Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans said.

“We are thankful to Nikul, Bhavin and the Jack’s of Fiji family and warmly welcome them into our sponsor vuvale. We look forward to working with Jack’s to bring a number of exciting promotions and campaigns to our fans.

“They will also be selling official Drua merchandise and fan gear at Drua home games, starting this very week as we host the Crusaders at Churchill Park in Lautoka.”

Jack’s of Fiji senior executive Nikul Khatri said the comapny was proud to be a major sponsor of the Fijian Drua.

“In fact we have been working very closely with the Drua over the past 18 months. We have developed a fantastic range of supporter merchandise which allows every Fijian to buy and show their colours and support for the Drua,” he said.

“We have also heeded the call from the Drua to support with ticket sales through our stores, for those that are not able to transact online. We are here to support the Drua in any way we can, and to create an unstoppable team and support base in our country that can spur the Drua to glory.”

As part of their sponsorship, Jack’s of Fiji will also award one lucky fan at every home match in Fiji with a generous shopping voucher. Called the “Jack’s Fan of the Match”, ground announcers Drix and Roko from Communications Fiji Ltd will select the most creatively dressed fan for the prize at Fijian Drua home games. The prize will be handed out to the winner on the ground at fulltime. Full details of the Jack’s Fan of the Match will be available on the Drua’s social media channels in the lead-up to each home match.

Meanwhile fans attending Fijian Drua matches in Fiji can enjoy ‘gameday only’ specials on a wide range of supporter apparel. The Jack’s of Fiji booth will be conveniently located as fans enter the main grandstand entrance of both stadiums in Lautoka and Suva.
