AHURA Resorts has announced the appointment of an experienced hotelier as its group general manager.

Director Tony Whitton announced the appointment of New Zealand native Bradley Calder as group general manager to the 100 per cent Fijian owned and multi award-winning properties — Likuliku Lagoon and Malolo Island Resorts.

“We are delighted to welcome Bradley and his wife Agnieszka to Fiji and Ahura Resorts,” Mr Whitton said.

“Bradley comes to us with a wealth of international experience in private islands, luxury and family resorts.

“My wife Brigid and I are delighted to partner with a couple of this calibre — with extensive international experience in the family and luxury segments and who share our passion for excellence.

“Both our resorts are renowned as high-quality products with outstanding customer service standards and have won numerous Fiji Excellence in Tourism awards, with Likuliku the first to achieve “the hall of fame status.”

As a proud Fijian owner company with strong ties to the local community combined with a high standing on the international stage, Mr Whitton shared that they were excited to work with Bradley and Agnieszka to build on their strong foundations and steer them boldy into the future.

The newly-appointed GM arrives to Ahura from a five-year posting as group GM for the luxury five-star Hurawalhi Island Resort and Kudadoo Island Resort in the Maldives.

Prior to that, he worked four years as resort manager at Gili Lankanfushi also in the Maldives. He has also held a number of key roles in the four-star resort family segment including executive assistant manager at Hard Rock Hotel Bali for four years and three years at the Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa in Fiji.

The couple stated they were excited to return to Fiji after so many years and to share their experience with the people of Fiji so that they may continue to grow and meet the ever-evolving expectations of resort guests.

Mr Calder outlined that they felt privileged to work with the Whitton family and the Ahura team, whose strong community values align so closely with theirs.
