Call to buy tickets early

- By ZANZEER SINGH

THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua management is urging fans to purchase tickets early to avoid the disappointment of missing out of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific game against the Crusaders at Churchill Park in Lautoka tomorrow.

This will be the Drua’s first home game for the season and first ever match against the defending champions on home soil.

Fijian Drua head of commercial and marketing Shane Hussein said ticket sales had been good.

Hussein said demand was high.

“We have Fiji’s only online platform selling tickets for all the home games,” he said.

“The tickets for the Crusaders game have been on sale for a couple of weeks now and it has been progressing very well.”

The concrete grandstand tickets are priced at $180 while it is $150 for the temporary Waitui and South West stands.

Tickets for the timber grandstand are $95 and $50 for the South

Terraces.

The grass embankment tickets range from $20 to $35. Hussein said there was an interesting trend with many tickets being bought online overseas.

“What we have noticed is that Fijians residing overseas are buying tickets online for their families and friends here and basically emailing them,” he said.

“The point here is that if you are waiting to purchase tickets on Saturday then you might be disappointed because the tickets are priced in accordance with what the market is here.

“It starts from $20, so going to a Super Rugby Pacific game and then watching the defending champions is pretty much unheard off.

“With one day to go we encourage fans to get online to purchase their tickets.

“However if you prefer the old method, then tickets are on sale at the Lautoka City Council and Jack’s of Fiji stores. The good thing about it is that you don’t really need to have a credit or debit card to purchase tickets as you can use M-Paisa as well.”

The match kicks off at 3.35pm.
