TRAVELING from Taveiuni to Lautoka to witness the Swire Shipping Fijian create history against Super Rugby champion Crusaders was all worth it, says die-hard fan Pio Bosco.

Pio Bosco Tikoisuva Jr, son of former national rugby legend Pio Bosco Tikoisuva Sr, said he had spent over $500 just to travel to Lautoka to witness the history-making match.

“Even though I have spent over $500 in my airfare, match tickets and transport to and from my home, I believe it was all worth it.”

After the Drua created history against the mighty Crusaders, edging the Christchurchbased side 24-25, Bosco Jr said he was more than happy to witness the event.

“I couldn’t control my emotions when Kemu Valetini kicked the winning penalty at the final hooter. The team has come a very long way.”

He said he managed to make the trip through the sales of his dalo and yaqona that he has been farming on the Garden Island of Fiji.

“I’ve been planting yagona and dalo for the past three years. From some that I harvested; I was able to pay all my expenses o be here today.”

In the process of planning his Lautoka trip, Bosco Jnr managed to meet up with an old friend of his, and they both cheered for our boys in their Drua wear.

“I’m just very proud of the boy’s achievements and I know they have much more games to win in the future.”

Bosco Jnr deemed yesterday’s match as one of the best the Fijian Drua has ever played since they joined the Super Rugby competition.

“Yes, I will be back to Suva and Lautoka for the rest of the Drua’s home matches.”
