Whatever happen in the Six Nations - this is the rugby results of the weekend. Fijian Drua upset the Super Rugby champions in Lautoka. Look what Pacific Island teams can achieve when given half chance. Glorious.

FROM watching his rugby heroes on television and seeing them in the flesh, witnessing the Crusaders and Swire Shipping Fijian Drua match was a dream come true for Timoci Vakacereibau.

Ever since he was in primary school, the 20-year-old would fantasise about his favorite team — the Crusaders.

“I just can’t believe that they are here and playing in Lautoka. I have been a huge fan of the team and players since I was very young and it is a dream come true to see them in the flesh,” the former Saint Thomas High School student said.

He had been saving money for the past months for game tickets since first discovering that the Crusaders would be playing in the country.

“But since they were to play against the Drua, I knew that I would end up cheering for our home side.”

Vakacereibau, who is a huge follower of rugby, said watching the Drua match rekindled the longlost dream of playing the spot for all Fijians.

“I just play rugby throughout primary school to secondary school. Just seeing the way, the Drua played today I very encouraging and has given me the challenge to give another try my long-lost dream of playing rugby.”

He said he left playing rugby after high school after finding employment in Lautoka.

“I have been busy with work and a lot of other things that I never really had the time to sit back and think about what I wanted to do.”

However, after witnessing this historic win against the Crusaders, he is adamant to give another try at his dream.
