‘Let’s sell-out Suva’

- By WAISALE KOROIWASA

“LET’S sell out Suva”.

That’s the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s humble plea to “its world number one fans” and “16th player” ahead of its Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round six clash against the Melbourne Rebels at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on April 1.

There will be a double header on the day with the Fijian Drua taking on the Rebels and the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua facing the Rebels women’s team.

“Two great games for the price of one. Let’s sellout Suva for both teams as they go after a first-ever win in Suva,” Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans said yesterday while launching ticket prices for the day.

In a major reduction in pricing from last season, the Drua has made 11,000 tickets available for $45 and under across three categories.

The Mick Byrne-coached side is after its first-ever win in the Capital City and the club has reduced ticket prices in nearly every category to encourage fans to come and cheer on the side.

“We’ve gone over our pricing strategy and decided that we needed to make the pricing even better value,” Evans said.

“The team needs its 16th player in Suva, so we’ve priced nearly three-quarters of all tickets at $45 or lower to help that.

“It’s double the value with two very high-quality matches for fans to enjoy.

“We have the best fans in the world whose passionate support on the ground drives the team to do better. As we prepare to take on the Melbourne Rebels in less than three weeks, we would like even more fans to come to Suva on April 1 to cheer on not just the Fijian Drua, but also the Fijiana Drua.”

All tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday, March 20 online at the Fijian Drua website, at Jack’s of Fiji outlets and the Fiji Sports Council office.
