RIGHTS-BASED organisation Pacific Recycling Foundation (PRF), in collaboration with Waste Recyclers Fiji Ltd (WRFL) and Malhana Cloud Kitchen (MCK) yesterday launched digital business cards for its management and staff members.

PRF founder and WRFL chief executive officer Amitesh Deo said the move was made in response to the pressing need for eco-conscious solutions in today’s era.

“The launch of our digital business cards showcases our dedication to environmental stewardship and our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices within the industry,” Mr Deo said.

“This launch marks a crucial step in combating the waste management crisis, and we encourage both public and private sectors to join us on the journey of integrating sustainability into their organisations and businesses.

“The future of waste management lies not just in investing in dump sites and landfills or collecting litter from our oceans, it lies in product design — designing out waste.”

The digital business cards operate as an electronic representation of traditional business cards whereby recipients can easily access contact details, professional profiles, and other relevant information.

Information on the cards can be scanned by bringing it close to an individual’s smartphone, enhancing accessibility and user convenience.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Co-operatives Manoa Kamikamica applauded this move and said this was in line with Government’s strategy, in terms of digitising the economy and moving into a circular economy model.
