Portal to ease doing business
The Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises has launched its newly designed ‘Business Now Fiji’ website, replacing the earlier bizFIJI website.
Designed by Malaysian-based trade, technology and transformation boutique consultancy company, Spirit of Endeavour, the new look portal is aimed at providing a seamless experience for budding entrepreneurs and individuals interested in investing in local construction projects.
“The portal streamlines the two critical pillars of doing business in Fiji - starting a business and investing in construction projects, which will expand to other services in Fiji,” Deputy Prime Minister and Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica said during the website launch event.
“Fijians can navigate the business registration and construction permit approval processes effortlessly through detailed checklists, transparent timelines, and downloadable forms, available on a centralized and easily accessible website.”
“Fiji is steadfast in its commitment to revolutionising its business climates, creating an investor friendly environment, investment related legislations that have been redesigned to eliminate redundant steps, streamline processes and ensure that investing in Fiji is not only faster, but also cost-effective, all the while safeguarding Fiji’s national interest.”
Mr Kamikamica said the successful realisation of this Government of Fiji project has been a result of collaborative efforts from various agencies.
“The information portal marks the commencement of digitising more government services to provide enhanced services to the people.
“I urge our stakeholders from the key agencies to rise to the occasion, initiate the necessary changes within their organisations and ensure the adoption and adaptation of the new way of delivering services to the business community.”
