Janif recognised as an ‘incredible leader’ by Vanity Fair
OUTSOURCE Fiji executive director Sagufta Janif was named one of 17 “incredible leaders” by American magazine Vanity Fair, through the feature, “A Brave New World”.
Known as the Global Goals list, it gives recognition to individuals who work “tirelessly to create a better future for us all” by driving progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ms Janif, according to the feature, was recognised for her contribution to SDG eight, which is the promotion of sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment for all.
“A flourishing community needs decent work and economic growth opportunities, as outlined in the SDG.
“Sagufta Janif, executive director of Outsource Fiji, is a pioneering youth leader of this industry-led organisation dedicated to nurturing Fiji’s flourishing outsourcing sector, generating numerous job opportunities,” the Vanity Fair article stated.
“If that wasn’t enough, through her social enterprise, The Fusion Hub and her tech start-up, Bula Lance, Sagufta actively provides more youth opportunities.
“She holds the esteemed position of Pacific regional representative for the Commonwealth Youth Council and was recognised as the Pacific region winner for the Commonwealth Youth Awards.”
In a statement released by Outsource Fiji, Ms Janif said she was honoured by the recognition.
“I am deeply honoured to be recognised in Vanity Fair alongside global leaders who are driving progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals,” she said.
“This recognition reaffirms the importance of our work at Outsource Fiji and the critical role of inclusive economic development in achieving sustainable and equitable societies.”
