Singh is new FRCS CEO Top executive appointee

THE Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) Board has appointed former Fiji resident Udit Singh as new chief executive officer of FRCS.

A former CEO of Milk Test NZ, a subsidiary of Fonterra, Mr Singh is a graduate in Accounting and Economics from the University of the South Pacific, holds a CPA from the Australian Society of Certified Public Accountant­s, an ACA of the New Zealand Institute of

Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Company Directors.

“He is a seasoned executive with a distinguis­hed career marked by transforma­tive leadership and a proven track record in governance, strategy, finance, and operations,” interim FRCS chairman and Permanent Secretary Finance Shiri Gounder said.

“With expertise in driving company transforma­tion, market developmen­t, and profitabil­ity, Udit brings to FRCS a focus on achieving operationa­l excellence and fostering revenue growth.

“His strengths lie in scaling and transformi­ng organisati­ons and cultivatin­g a culture of innovation and leadership developmen­t.

“With his wealth of commercial and strategic leadership experience, the board expects him to continue the good work that is underway in transformi­ng FRCS to be an effective service driven tax, customs and border protection agency,” Mr Gounder said.

Acting CEO Malakai Naiyaga will return to his role as chairman of the FRCS board when Mr Singh takes on his new CEO position on March 25.

BSP Financial Group Ltd (BSP) has announced the appointmen­t of Miliana Susau Tavakatura­ga as the new general manager People & Culture, effective February 5, 2024.

BSP country head Haroon Ali said the appointmen­t is a significan­t step that reflects the organisati­on’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within its executive leadership team.

“We are confident that Ms Tavakatura­ga’s extensive experience and expertise will further strengthen our focus on nurturing a highperfor­mance culture and driving our people and culture agenda to new heights,” he said.

Ms Tavakatura­ga has had 18 years of experience in banking, including eight years dedicated to human resources and a prior role as a human resources business partner at a major bank in Fiji.

“Her proven track record and deep understand­ing of HR practices within the banking and finance industry make her a valuable addition to the leadership team,” BSP stated.

“Her strength lies in HR Strategy, HR Business Partnering, Employee and Employment Relations, HR Analytics, Remunerati­on Review and HR Policy Advice in compliance with the Employment Relations Act and Payroll regulation­s.

“She has also had experience in banking operations and digital banking support.”

Ms Tavakatura­ga said she is “excited to join one of Fiji’s largest corporate sector employer and I’m committed to adding value to its progressiv­e People & Culture Program”.

“I look forward to contributi­ng to BSP’s continued success,” she said.

The mother of three holds a Master of Business Administra­tion (MBA) from the University of the South Pacific, along with postgradua­te qualificat­ions in Business Administra­tion and Human Resources Management.
