89 teams for Marist 7s
THIS year’s Fiji Bitter Marist 7s boasts a record-breaking 89 participating teams, marking a significant increase from previous years.
Among them are 45 men’s teams, 12 women’s teams, and 18 teams in the men’s U18 to U21 categories.
This year welcomes the debut of the Royal Navy 7s team from England, adding an international flavour to the competition.
Additionally, teams from Kadavu and Vanualevu, with surprise entries coached and managed by national 7s representatives, promise to shake up the tournament with their fresh approach and determination.

Speaking to the Fiji Bitter 7s Series tournament’s progression, Spencer remarked, “The organisation and support for these events have reached new heights, with competition levels rising notably, especially with grassroots rugby clubs shining in multiple finals”.
Spencer expressed gratitude to all tournament organisers in the Fiji Bitter 7s Series, recognising their vital role in representing the brand and facilitating the tournaments.
“We’ve gained valuable insights that we’re excited to apply for the next Fiji Bitter 7s series, we’ve been particularly impressed by the sustainability focus from all the tournament organisers, including infrastructure development, clean-up campaigns, and tree-planting initiatives.”
The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held from March 22-23 at Suva’s HFC Stadium.
