Pools drawn, stage set
POOLS for the highly anticipated Fiji Bitter Nahehevia 7s tournament have been drawn as the two-day competition is set to start tomorrow morning.
Tournament co-ordinator Marika Kurisese says the pools have been drawn in line with last year’s tournament and the current Fiji Bitter Series table.
“We managed to get the pools drawn yesterday evening, and it had been done in such a way that it corresponds with last year’s tournament and the current Fiji Bitter Series table,” he said.
Turisese said using the above promises an exciting tournament, from the highest ranked team to the lowest evenly spread out.
“And to this, we have seen that all teams have been spread out properly over the eight pools.”
“So, looking at all the eight pools, I can say that we are expecting a very tough and close competition between all the teams.”
Meanwhile, Kurisese apologised to fans and spectators for not having the tournament broadcast live but encouraged them to show up to the grounds for a much better and realistic experience.
“We are sorry that the tournament will not be broadcast live on television, but we are still encouraging all rugby fans to come out and get the full experience of 7s grassroots rugby.”
