- Message from CHEN TIEJUN Director of The Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province

AS Chinese New Year approaches, everything is undergoing renewal. On February 3rd, the Year of the Loong stamps in Fiji was successfully launched, marking a significant event in the deepening tourism and cultural exchange between Hainan Province and Fiji. On this joyous occasion, I extend warmest congratulations and sincere wishes on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province for the successful hosting of the event!

The Fiji Loong stamps, designed by the Qingdao Ruoqi Jewelry and Cultural and Art Museum under the commission of the China Cultural Centre in Fiji and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, seamlessly blend the visual representation of the ancient Chinese loong with the traditional Fijian masi patterns. This not only showcases the rich and diverse charm of Chinese and Fijian cultures to a global audience, but also serves as the evidence of the friendly mutual cultural exchanges and deep friendship between the two nations.

Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province has consistently endeavoured to promote cultural and tourism exchanges between Hainan and all around the world. We sincerely hope that through a series of events, we can further enhance understanding and communication between the people of China and Fiji, jointly constructing a prosperous and beautiful future. This is not only the reflection of China-Fiji friendship, but also an active practice of the concept of a “community of shared future for humanity”. In the future, the Hainan Provincial Administration of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports will continue commit to promote tourism and cultural exchanges between Hainan and Fiji, and collaboration in various fields such as tourism and culture, contributing to the well-being of the people in both countries.

Situated at the southernmost part of China, Hainan is the strategic hub on the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road and a beautiful international tourist destination. With 35,400 square kilometres of unique natural resources and rich cultural heritage, Hainan Province has azure seas, blue skies, a spring-like climate all year around. It has unique folk customs and picturesque scenery. In recent years, “tourism +” new business model expand throughout the region, the construction of international tourism consumption centre in full swing, high-end shopping, medical services, and education have become the “golden business card” of the Hainan Free Trade Port, attracting overseas consumption. It can be said that today’s Hainan is in a new era, with new advantages, facing new opportunities, and full of new hopes. We warmly welcome friends from Fiji to visit Hainan for sightseeing, tourism, and leisure. Hainan will also promote the development of cultural and tourism undertakings with a more open and vigorous attitude.

In conclusion, I sincerely wish that cultural exchanges between China and Fiji will become increasingly intimate and that the friendship between the two countries will last forever! Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year, and all the best in the year of loong!

We sincerely hope that through a series of events, we can further enhance understanding and communication between the people of China and Fiji, jointly constructing a prosperous and beautiful future.
