A TOTAL of 46 teams will compete in the 2024 Rexona Bula Business House Futsal Cup which kicks off at the end of the month.

This was confirmed during the launch of the tournament on Friday after Rexona, a leading global deodorant brand, was announced as an official partner of Bula Events Group.

Rexona, through Motibhai Group of Companies, provided a $25,000 sponsorship to cater for the event.

Bula Events Group director Alan Kumar thanked Motibhai Group and Rexona for the decision to come on board as major sponsors of the event.

“We are happy to be launching the event here today and we thank Motibhai for once again coming on board as our major and only sponsor of the event,” he said.

The tournament is set to kick start on February 27, and will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday for the next 11 weeks at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

“This is the first time Rexona has also come on board, through Motibhai, to partner with a sporting event or group to promote sports via hygiene,” Kumar added.

“There will be six women’s teams and 40 men’s teams competing.

“We have set a benchmark in futsal soccer in the country and we are ready to deliver again come 2024 and take it another level higher than last year.

“We are confident that this tournament will be the biggest futsal tournament in the country.”

Winners in the men’s division will receive a prize money of $5250 while the women’s winner will walk away with $3000.

“The good thing about the tournament this year, is that teams will not have to pay any registration fee. All they have to do is come and compete with a chance of winning a large sum of money.”
