New champ for tourney
THE absence of the Fiji Babas at the 37th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s tournament will now see a new champion when the competition starts today at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Tournament co-ordinator Maleli Ranawai highlighted a few standout teams to keep an eye out for during the two days of competition.
The likes of BLK Lavidi Brothers, Army Green, and Wardens Gold are expected to bring an exciting competition to the men’s division.
“The Nawaka 7s tournament serves as a platform for talented rugby players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot to represent Fiji in international tournaments,” Ranawai said.
“The importance of the event is to contribute to the development of Fiji Rugby by identifying and nurturing top talent players that can be selected for the national side.”
As the tournament kicks off today, fans can expect a thrilling display of rugby action, with every game promising to be as intense as the final match.
