THE Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) yesterday officially launched HOTEC Tradeshow 2024, the premier trade show event for Fiji’s hospitality industry.

Scheduled for October 24 to 25 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort on Denarau, HOTEC 2024 “promises to be the biggest and most impactful event yet, bringing together industry leaders, exhibitors, and stakeholders from across the globe,” according to FHTA.

“You come to the trade show and you will see just where the industry is moving,” said FHTA chief executive officer Fantasha Lockington.

“In a world where Fiji competes at a very high level, especially in tourism, we want to make sure that we offer the best that the world is expecting.”

Gold sponsor New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, a New Zealand Government trade promotion entity, sponsored HOTEC 2022, the first HOTEC since COVID and came on board again this year.

“When I first arrived in Fiji it was 2020. It was the middle of Covid and I think the tourism industry here was going through the toughest time ever,” Trade Commissioner for New Zealand David Dewar said.

“And it’s been an incredible privilege for me to have seen the amazing rebound that Fiji’s tourism industry has managed to achieve over the last couple of years.

“We were privileged to be the gold sponsor of the first HOTEC since the COVID pandemic in October 2022 and it was a phenomenal event and was extremely successful and really well executed and we had no hesitation in coming on board again.

FHTA also signed with the Fiji Times Ltd as official media partner for the event and Communications Fiji Ltd, leader in event management in Fiji, who will provide booths to showcase products and services.
