Fantasha at the helm
FANTASHA Lockington is a renowned name in the local tourism industry.
For decades, the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association chief executive has dedicated her life to the enormous growth of the local sector and is described by stakeholders as a trailblazer, a pioneer and a leader.
Her unwavering commitment was most recently recognised at the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards where she was bestowed the Dixon Seeto Tourism Leader accolade.
The FHTA expressed joy at this most recent achievement.
“Leading the charge at the Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association (FHTA) in Suva, Ms Lockington brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table,” the FHTA stated.
“Her dedication and commitment to the field are evident through her extensive involvement and leadership roles.
“Through her multifaceted engagements, Ms Lockington champions private sector collaboration, advocating for inclusive growth, productivity enhancements, and regulatory reforms that benefit all stakeholders.”
Under Ms Lockington’s guidance, the FHTA Secretariat has thrived with a laser focus on addressing the concerns and priorities of association members.
It also noted that Ms Lockington’s leadership ensured that every day at the office was driven by the collective aspirations of Fiji’s vibrant tourism community.
Following the sector’s recovery from the pandemic, Ms Lockington believed the experiences they had undertaken as a nation continued to harden their resolve to persevere, overcome and to succeed.
She is also of the firm belief that tourism has grown in leaps and bounds from its early pioneering days rising to become an undeniable force in Fiji’s revenue-earning potential and is now recognised as a fundamental cornerstone of the country’s economic development.
