RESIDENTS of Nausori Town and nearby villages welcomed the reopening of Value City’s store in their home town yesterday morning.

Asena Molivou and Virisime Balekaba, co-owners of Sisters Hair Salon in Nausori said they have been looking forward to the return of Value City since it closed its doors a few years ago.

“For years we’ve been looking around for the right hair iron for our shop, and we finally found the right one, used universally by other hairstylists, at Value City,” Ms Molivou said.

“Since their branch closed a few years ago, we’ve been looking forward to the day they’ll reopen. Even though we came to look for our shop stuffs, we ended up buying other things because items are cheap.”

Value City manager marketing and public relations, Monica Chute said the company spent about $800,000 in the development of the new outlet.

“We’re delighted to be back in Nausori, the delta town. We were in Nausori a couple of years ago but due to COVID, we had to close down. Since then, we’ve been looking for space that will be convenient for our shoppers and we were very fortunate to have found this,” she said.

“Customers have been requesting for us to return to Nausori for some time and so we’re very happy to be able to fulfill that for them. We’re just delighted that we still have our customer base here.

“We’ve had customers coming from Tailevu all the way to our branch in Suva so I’m not surprised that they would make an effort to be here today.”

The newly opened Value City Nausori branch is located at the corner of Gulam Nabi and Brown Lane, where Joji’s Restaurant was once located.
