Obituary Andre Braugher
1963 — 2023
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE fans around the world were saddened to hear the passing of Emmy-winning actor, Andre Braugher after a brief illness according to Cable News Network (CNN).
His rise in the film industry began from the movie titled Glory which featured famous actors such as Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Mattew Roderick and Cary Elwes and many more. The film was about a group or unit of Black soldiers back in the Civil War said CNN.
Following that, Mr Braugher acted as Jackie Robinson in “The Court-Martial of Jack Robinson”. He then featured in Homicide which was said to be an adaptive of the Baltimore detectives on David Simon’s book along with National Broadcasting Company (NBC) series on his role Frank Pembleton who was a detective.
He then featured on other shows named “Primal Fear,” “Frequency”, “Get on the Bus” and Gideon’s Crossing. These shows ranged from sci-fi thrillers to enjoyable family shows.
Braugher was then awarded his second Emmy more than 18 years ago in 2006 from being a part of the Thief which at the time, was nominated 11 times. Following that, he joined Men of a Certain Age with renown actor, Ray Romano then later taking on his most well known role as Captain Ray Holt in Andy Samberg’s comedy show Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Braugher was recognised for his contribution to the two shows by receiving Emmy nominations.
Terry Crews, a recognised actor and co-star shared his grief of losing his fellow co-star on Instagram.
“Can’t believe you’re gone so soon,” he said.
“I’m honoured to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared eight glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent.
“This hurts.
“You left us too soon.
“You taught me so much.
“I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you.
“Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship. “Deepest condolences to your wife and family in this difficult time. You showed me what a life well lived looks like,”said Terry Crews.
CNN reported that Braugher was formerly of Stanford and Juilliard University.
