Nadi upsets Mid-Central
NADI men’s volleyball team achieved a remarkable victory in the Vanua Challenge competition, defeating the favoured Mid-Central team in the quarterfinals at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva yesterday.
The match was fiercely contested, with Mid-Central taking the lead in the first set with a score of 25-21.
However, Nadi fought back and secured the second set with a score of 25-17.
The final set was intense, with Nadi ultimately triumphing with a close score of 15-13, securing their spot in the semifinals.
The team is led by coach Taniela Seninawanawa, a seasoned representative for Fiji in the 2016 Handy Finance Oceania Volleyball Championship.
Seninawanawa expressed his pride in the team’s performance, noting that they are a group of young and dedicated players who train together diligently, adhering to their own strategic approach to the game.
“Really happy for the boy’s performance, I know there is a different style of play with other teams, we managed to stick to ours and we managed to get the win,” said Seninawanawa.
“We had a tough two days of competition, its good to come and expose the players in different environment to improve their performance.”
“Looking forward for a exciting season ahead and looking forward to come and participate in the Easter Games tournament.
