New logo for accountant­s

THE Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountant­s (FICA) yesterday unveiled its new logo ahead of its 49th Annual Accountant­s Congress, to be held at ShangriLa, Yanuca Island Resort on April 26 and 27 with the theme “Advancing our journey into the future”.

This is the first time in its 52-year history that Fiji’s highest accounting body has changed its logo to align with its name change in a transition that began in 2021.

“This occasion signifies a significan­t milestone as we embrace a new era of our identity, building upon our five decades of legacy,” said FICA president Rajeshwar Singh.

“FICA’s journey started in 1972. The transition from the Fiji Institute of Accountant­s to the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountant­s in 2021 represents a significan­t milestone of journey of growth and developmen­t.

“What started with 84 financial members in 1972 has now reached close to 790 financial members and we have over 220 student members,” Mr Singh said.

Chair of FICA’s branding committee Ravinesh Singh said the new logo will guide the organisati­on into a new chapter.

“For 52 years, our logo has been a symbol of trust, integrity and profession­alism. It has stood as a testament to our commitment to uphold with high standards in accounting and financial stewardshi­p has been our banner as we have navigated through the motion of our industry.

“Adapting to new challenges and seizing opportunit­ies to grow and innovate.”

Mr Singh said the institutio­n must reflect the dynamism, agility and forward thinking mindset that the changing times demand.

“Our new logo is not just a cosmetic change. It is a powerful representa­tion of our evolution, our renewed vision and our plans to remain at the forefront of our profession.”

FICA also announced two platinum sponsors for its April apex event, Vodafone Fiji and Asco Motors, who pledged sponsorshi­p support of $60,000 each.
