Member visits by FCEF
FCEF is not limited to the services mentioned above but takes out time to visit its members and have discussions on way forward for training collaborations or other important activities.
Recently FCEF had visited members and was impressed by the presentation and discussions during their visit.
The chief executive officer of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) Jonetani Tonawai, accompanied by Savenaca Baro, manager of membership services, research and communication, recently visited Essity Australasia (Fiji) Ltd.
General manager, Eldon Eastgate gave a brief history and insight of the organisation and the work they do.
Mr Tonawai expressed his admiration for the presentation delivered during the visit and commended Essity’s dedication to compliance and commitment.
He remarked, “It was encouraging to witness Essity’s strong emphasis on health and safety, adherence to human rights standards, efforts in preventing corruption and bribery, focus on employee skill development, and engagement in community initiatives.”
The organisation also prioritises sustainable practices and strives to attain them.
Mr Tonawai further emphasised FCEF’s ongoing commitment to serving its members, highlighting the importance of regular visits and interactions.
In another visit, FCEF CEO and manager membership visited the Value City (SP) Pte Ltd.
The managing director of Value City (SP) Pte Ltd and vice president of the FCEF board Vera Chute provided insights into the company’s operations to the FCEF CEO.
Value City is deeply committed to promoting women’s empowerment, with approximately 70 per cent of its workforce being female and 30 per cent male. The company also places a strong emphasis on sustainable practices and is pioneering efforts to rebrand recycled clothing in the region.
The federation expressed its satisfaction upon hearing from Ms Chute and commended Value City for its exemplary compliance with occupational health and safety standards, business continuity planning, adherence to human resource policies, commitment to training and development, as well as its commendable efforts in achieving 70 per cent female workforce representation and championing sustainable practices within its operations.
