Drua to address accuracy, execution

- By ANASILINI NATOGA

SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua hooker Mesulame Dolokoto is determined to address accuracy and execution issues in their game plan before the upcoming clash against the Crusaders at Churchill Park this Saturday.

The Vanua Levu lad, reflecting on their recent match against Moana Pasifika, identified weaknesses in finishing plays and decisionmaking that need improvement.

“Some learnings include accuracy and execution of our game plan, sometimes we notice we didn’t finish our plays and some decision making, I guess.

“We need to make better decisions and game awareness,” Dolokoto said.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, Dolokoto anticipates a competitive game, noting that both teams are yet to secure a point on the scoreboard this year.

“It will be a good one both teams have yet to win a game this year so both teams will be out to prove a point and get their first win,” Dolokoto added.

Despite being winless in the first two rounds, Dolokoto calls on the fans to come out in numbers and support the team this Saturday.

“We will need your support this Saturday, come out in numbers and cheer us,” Dolokoto added.

Dolokoto and Valetini were part of Tilak High School Drug Awareness week yesterday and reminded the students of choosing their circle of friends well.

“Say no to drugs. choose your friends wisely.

“Just want to encourage you guys to never feel pressured by anyone. Just stay true to yourself if no one ever offers you anything outside of school, you know, there’s some you guys are going to be finishing school and heading out into the real world and finding jobs and stuff like that.

“You’re going to be going out to places like restaurants, bars and clubs and stuff like that. So if you ever meet anyone out there that’s trying to ask you Hey, do you want to try this? Do I do this? You can always say no. There’s no harm in telling someone that you don’t want to do anything.

“So, I just want to encourage you guys to stay in school. Do your best. Do your homework. Listen to your mom and dad,” Dolokoto said.
