BODY of Canadian professor Mr Harvey Adney, aged 86, is found in the Rewa River. A village girl saw the body floating near Toga village when returning to the village. Foul play is not suspected.

ACTING assistant librarian Mrs Push- pa Naresh of the Western Regional Library reports having lost more than $5500 worth of library books the previous year due to books not being returned.

ENGINE failure and the loss of couplings causes 13-tonne interisland trader Gaunavou to sink in Beqa Lagoon. She sank with all her cargo in Frigate Passage and the five crew members abandoned ship.
