Haider lines up Mika

- By JOHN CHETTY

UBAYD Haider, formerly known as Nathan Singh, is targeting a match against Mikaele Ravalaca next following his recent victory over Mohammed Ali at the Blue Water Boxing Promotion earlier this month.

Haider wasted no time in calling out Ravalaca and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana and received a quick response from Ravalaca, fuelling his desire to face him in the ring.

His manager, Alan Kumar, notes the public’s interest in seeing this fight and emphasizes the importance of keeping fans satisfied.

“The people want to see that fight, if you want to be a champion, you must keep the fans happy and work on the ring,” said Kumar.

While Haider is eager to sign the contract for the bout against Ravalaca, there is a stipulation that he must first improve his rankings before the fight, which is expected to take place in the featherweight division.

“We are ready to sign the contract given he improves his rankings, and this fight will be at featherweight,” Kumar added.

Despite some negative feedback from the public, the buzz surrounding this potential match is beneficial for the sport of boxing.

“It is the talk of the town and that’s good for boxing, nowadays the public very much understand about the right matchmaking but most of them also give their negative comments, which does not do any good for anyone,’ Kumar said

“No doubt he is a strong boxer with full dedication in his training, he got a very good team that looks after him, let’s make this happen for the public.”

“Let’s get ready to rumble when time is right, Haider will be back in action soon and we are targeting 55kg to 59kg, but our focus is the 57kg tittle.”
