THE Naitasiri Warriors Schoolgirls team and newcomers Jasper Willams High School from the West remain unbeaten after round 3 of the Pherrus Trophy Rugby League competition.

According to FSSRL media officer Lai Corerega, the Naitasiri Warriors have demonstrated consistency in their performance over the past two rounds, positioning them as strong contenders to lead their pool.

“The highlanders have showcased exceptional skills in both attack and defence, positioning them as one of the top teams likely to qualify for the nationals in April,” said Corerega.

Jasper Willams High School’s dedication to sports development, particularly in rugby league, is evident through their impressive performance.

“They thrive on being the best team sport in the West compared to rugby, and athletics,” he said.

“They will continue to be the team to beat even at the nationals and will be a threat to some Southeast Zone Schoolgirl’s teams.

“We are not leaving out the other hardworking teams, defending champs Namosi Secondary School will be up for a tough battleto defend their title this year.

“As the weather remains favourable, spectators can anticipate more thrilling games from the talented schoolgirl teams competing in the Pherrus Trophy Competition.

“In the spirit of International Women’s Day, FSSRL extends their well wishes to all women and girls in Fiji, committing to the completion of the zone competition by April without cancellations unless necessary.
