Interesting word

WHILE scrolling through social media pages, I came across a word that reminded me of a young Opposition member whom the Government side loves to hate. Cockwomble.

The Urban Dictionary describes cockwomble as a person, usually male, who is prone to making outrageously stupid statements and-or inappropriate behaviour while having a very high opinion of their own wisdom and importance.

Did you happen to envision the same individual as I did?

Gender inequality

DURING International Women’s Day, the PM stated that his Coalition administration will advance the progress of women and girls in every facet of development in the nation.

I totally agree, because the Bible stipulated both men and women to dominate all things on the Earth, except humans.

Powerful democratic nations have been led by women and few have engraved their footprints, that most men leaders of today, still cannot comprehend the realities.

“No country can ever truly flourish if it suffocates the potential of its women” — Michelle Obama.

Crux of the matter

SOMETIMES many things cloud our mind

Sometimes our mind begins to grind In the heart’s labyrinth, where truth does hide

Lies the crux of the matter, deep inside Beneath veils of façade and masks we wear

Lies the essence of all we hold dear

In the tangle of emotions, fear doth lurk Yet courage rises to confront and work For in facing the crux, we find our light Guiding us through the darkest of night With honesty as our compass, we chart our course

Navigating through turmoil, with unwavering force

So, let us delve deep, with steadfast resolve

To unravel the mysteries, our spirits evolve

For in the crux of the matter, we find our truth

And embrace the journey, in age or youth Things at times are blurry and doubtful We need to finetune and remain faithful The key issues may cause confusion and uncertainty

Let us stand back and think again with audacity

See if you are missing something asking some vital questions

What else could it be? Are there any other options?

One has to reflect at the main issues, the real issue

That one needs to sanguinely and positively pursue

Crux of the matter draws our attention It ignites our close consideration When confronted with challenges that matter

It’s wise to search what is the crux of the matter

It captures the crux point between expectation and fact

This is the crux of the matter in fact For in the crux of the matter, clarity gleams

Housing assistance

THE Fiji Times news on “call for home buyers” (FT 4/3) must be a relief for all Fijians desperately needing finance to have a home to live in accordance with their needs and wants.

I have always seen Housing Authority coming to assist those who need financial assistance.

They play a major role in promoting and facilitating for low and middle income earners.

There is nothing more important than a good, safe and secure home. TAHIR ALI
