P MEGHJI Group of Companies operating as Fresh Choice is set to embark on the second phase of its project in Savusavu.

The announcement comes following the successful launch of the supermarket yesterday, which marked the first phase of the project.

The group has unveiled plans to open a coffee shop and bakery alongside its recently inaugurated medium-sized supermarket.

In an interview with The Fiji Times, group general manager Eremasi Matanatabua, revealed that the decision to expand the business was influenced by the fruitful establishment of a liquor shop in Savusavu back in 2019.

“Our liquor shop in Savusavu garnered significant traction by offering customers a diverse selection of alcohol ranging from wine to beer,” he said.

Mr Matanatabua said they saw there was a potential of expanding their business in Savusavu.

“Also, in responding to the demand for a premium market experience, we devised a comprehensive plan to diversify our offerings,” he said.

“This was also part of the plan when we first opened a liquor shop five years ago.”

Despite the absence of a specific timeline for the opening of the coffee shop, he said they remain committed to delivering quality products and services to its clientele.

“For, our supermarket it does not only introduces healthy competition to the market but also prioritises hygiene standards, ensuring a safe and conducive shopping environment for all patrons,” he said.

The supermarket currently employs a workforce of 20 fulltime staff and five part-time employees, further bolstering the company’s commitment to job creation and economic growth.
